Let Me Update You

Like my Beyoncé reference? She has basically been running my life lately. My Beyoncé playlist is exactly 4 hours and 43 minutes long. I'm constantly switching between that playlist and my Frozen one. And I have no shame. Anyways, once again my school work has suffocated me. But I told myself to keep pushing with my blog. Between music, school, and trying to handle this blog, I have invested in a bike. Recently, ive found that I enjoy biking. It's fun and is a great work out. I've named her Olive (I name everything) and she's a Windsor Oxford Deluxe. SHES GORGEOUS. She has a cute cup holder and a rear basket! Here's a picture because I'm obsessed:

And that's just a glimpse into my life right now.

I woke up like this.

Naked 2 Palette

Before you say anything, YES, I know that the Naked 3 Palette is out...but I don't have that kind of money. Personally, I like this palette the best. It's perfect for darker skin (Naked 1 is too light, and Naked 3 is too rosy) and it has the perfect sparkly to matte ratio. Sometimes I'm feeling glitzy, and sometimes I'm feeling neutral. Each shade stays on basically 24 hours and it's ridiculously easy to apply with the brush it comes that's included. If you have this palette and need some advice on what to use or how to use it, here's what I recommend:
1. Apply "Bootycall" all over the lid.
2. Apply "Tease" on the crease.
3. Apply "Busted" to the corners.

If you're ever so lucky enough to own one of these bad boys, let me know how you wear it!

Be fierce.

Frozen

I was definitely going to try and do a beauty post today, but I've been way too obsessed with Disney's Frozen. I have seriously watched it seven times. That's dedication. So this is a shameless plug to get everyone to watch it. Without ruining it, here's my take on it: Two sisters have a falling out because the eldest (Elsa) has powers that can potentially be dangerous. Some stuff happens and the youngest sister (Anna) falls in love...blah blah blah snowman named Olaf...blah blah blah new guy who's obviously better...blah blah blah happy ending.

LETS BE REAL. YOU NEED TO WATCH IT. It's a movie for everyone. The songs are great, the plot is great, and the characters are great. I promise you won't be let down.

Here's a clip of my favorite song:

Let me know what you thought about it! Hopefully I'm not the only one who has gone crazy!

Some people are worth melting for.

Tattoos

Some people are for them, and some people are against them. It's all personal preference. At the moment, I have 2. One is placed on the top right part of my back. I am OBSESSED with anything Disney related, so naturally I endeavored to get a Lion King tattoo. It says: "Everything the light touches is our kingdom", which is what Mufasa tells Simba. The other is on my left forearm. It's of a skeleton key that has a Mickey head and the disney castle. I guess Disney is the "key to my heart" or the "key to happiness/imagination/dreams"...cheesy, I know.

For anyone who is on the fence about getting tattoos...just wait. You know when you'll really want one. Don't get one to impress somebody, don't get one because it ONLY looks cool, and definitely don't get one because someone is pressuring you to. A tattoo doesn't necessarily have to have a meaning, but you should at least put some thought into it. Tbh, they are fairly expensive, semi-painful, and are permanent. Make sure it's something YOU want.

Cheers to a New Year!

Happy New Year! I never really have a New Year's Resolution because I never really felt the need to have one. However, this year I think this will be my motto: "Do more of what makes you happy". I've decided I'm not going to do something if it doesn't make me happy. The first text I received coming into the new year was "Fuck up the world. 2014 is going to be out bitch" (from my roommate)...And it definitely will be.

Hello 2014!

The Struggle

I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING! Last quarter kicked my butt. For those of you who don't know, the quarter system is fast. It's about 10 weeks long, so professors have to pack what would be a semester long class into 10 weeks. And in return, I become swamped, stressed, and exhausted. I have absolutely no time to breathe. But don't worry, I am still managing to have a good time. I had an awesome 19th birthday, and made wonderful memories with my friends who go to UCSC with me. These are the times that I will never forget, and the memories that will hold forever.

If you are currently having problems in college (maybe even high school!), or are on the path towards college and are looking for some advice, I'm here to help:

  1. Time management. This is huge. Put aside some time to do schoolwork, invest in an agenda, and prioritize.
  2. STUDY. Don't blow it off. Don't become overwhelmed. Find what feels good for you. This could be studying in your room, studying in the library, playing music, not having any noise, studying alone, or studying with friends. There is no right or wrong way to study. What works for someone else might not work for you, but as long as you actually study, it's guaranteed that you'll do better.
  3. Be open. College is the time for you to find what you like and who you are without holding back. Make new friends, eat new food, go on adventures...whatever it takes to find you.
That's all I have for now! If you want more advice, have other advice, or have questions, let me know! Now that I have time off for Christmas break, my regular blogging will be back!

Happy Holidays!

Baby Lips

(From left to right: Cherry Me, Pink Punch, Quenched, and Pink Shock)

I'm sure a million beauty gurus have already raved about how wonderful this product is. But frankly, I don't care...I will be that million and one...THESE ARE INCREDIBLE. The best part is that all of them taste like candy and smell so good. They're like a mixture between a lip balm and a lipstick, so they do give a slight tint (some more than others) but they are not as pigmented and vibrant as a lipstick would be. It says that it moisturizes lips for 8 hours, but I constantly reapply throughout the day. Besides that, there are SO many choices to choose from, but right now these are the ones I'm loving. If I had to choose one, it would have to be the Pink Shock. It gives the perfect pink tint and tastes like the sour patch kid candy. But honestly, why not choose them all?

You bring me joy.

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner

Good morning/afternoon/night! Oh joy! Eye make up blog post! I used to be the type of person who hated putting on eyeliner. It was literally the hardest thing to do. But I was also the person who stuck to only pencil liner. I was too afraid to branch off to something different, for fear of not knowing how to apply it and looking like a hot mess. I cannot believe I let that happen, because this gel liner (in the color: Blackest Black) is the holy grail of eye liners. Personally, it is a million times easier to use than liquid liner or pencil liner. It comes with a little brush, and all you have to do is take some of the gel and use it as you would a pencil. Yet, it looks bolder, it stays on all day, and you can easily "do it up" or "do it down". However, it is one of the more expensive drug store pick ups. But the $7 - $9 range is definitely worth it. Nowadays, I'm more open to trying new things, so let me know what your favorite liner is!

Be you.

Dorm Decor

Oh hey! This post is way overdue. If you didn't already know, I am a second year college student at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I'm in the dorms once again, and have realized that decorating such a tiny area is a hassle and just frustrating. Nevertheless, I have managed to create my own space that I personally think is simple, but cute. It took me a week to make sure every detail is perfect...so here's the final product:

My bed! I'm 99.9% sure that I bought my comforter set from Target (the love of my life), and I just threw on my Cars pillow pet and my build a bear to give it a little "home-y" feel. I absolutely LOVE anything Disney, hence the Mickey poster. I love the vintage feel of it, and that it gives my bed area a pop of color.

On the wall adjacent to my bed, is this masterpiece. I was ever so lucky enough to watch One Direction This Is Us (yes, I am proud to be a Directioner) 20 days before it's release, where I received this poster. I didn't want such a tiny poster to be all alone on a huge white wall, so I accented it with some polaroids hanging on twine with clothespins. Looks simple, yet reflects who I am.

Here is my desk area! I hate clutter, so all of my school supplies are mostly in drawers or bookcases. Therefore, I have a very simple calendar from the Container Store, a magnetic strip for notes and such, and some other simple things.

I don't want my desk area to  be distracting, but I want to be comfortable. And for me, to be comfortable, I need to feel at home. Pictures like this, remind me of home. On another note, I purchased the little jewelry holder from Target and the frame Disneyland.

I love the beach, the ocean, whatever you want to call it...I love it. I attend a school in a city notorious for its beaches, so it's not that hard to figure out. Mason jars just look classy, vintage, and simple (I've been using those adjectives a lot in this post). I filled a larger one with sand to use as a pencil/pen holder, and I filled the other two with seashells that I handpicked myself from various beaches I've visited. These are simple decorations that make a whole lot of differences.

I hope ya'll appreciated this post! I was skeptical about posting such a personal area of my life for everyone in the world to see, but I love seeing room decorating ideas online. So I thought to myself, "Why not contribute to that community?" Do you guys have any tips? Better yet, what decorations do you have in your room?

Dare to be different.
